What to Plant in June: 20 Crops for a Productive Garden

The Fiskars X25 28" Splitting Axe is engineered for anyone who regularly splits medium- to large-sized logs and wants to do it faster, with less effort, and fewer strikes. At the heart of its design is an advanced bevel convex blade geometry that disperses wood from the blade for cleaner splits, paired with a proprietary blade-grinding technique that delivers a sharper edge for better contact on every swing. The hardened forged steel blade features a low-friction coating so it powers through wood without getting stuck. The insert-molded head is inseparable from the shock-absorbing FiberComp® handle — lightweight yet stronger than steel — and will never loosen over time. A textured, non-slip grip at the base reduces hand strain and keeps the axe firmly in hand on powerful strikes.
Designed in Finland and backed by a lifetime warranty, the Fiskars X-Series axes earned the prestigious 2010 Red Dot Product Design Award. A heavy-duty protective sheath is included for safe storage and transport. Pair this axe with other Fiskars gardening tools available at DripWorks for a complete yard-care toolkit.

What size logs is the X25 best for?
The Fiskars X25 is designed specifically for splitting medium- to large-sized logs. Its 28" handle and perfected weight distribution make it a versatile choice for most residential firewood tasks.
For very large rounds or particularly stubborn hardwood, you may want to consider the longer Fiskars X27 (36") for additional leverage. For smaller logs and kindling, a shorter hatchet may be more convenient.
Will the axe head ever loosen or fall off?
No. The X25 uses an insert-molded head design, meaning the head and handle are permanently bonded together. It will not loosen over time the way traditional wood-handled axes can.
This also provides overstrike protection — if you miss the log and the handle strikes the wood, the handle is far less likely to crack or break compared to traditional hickory handles.
Can I sharpen the blade myself?
Yes. The hardened forged steel blade can be resharpened with a whetstone or a dedicated axe file when it begins to dull.
Follow the original bevel angle when sharpening. After sharpening, wipe the blade clean and store it in the included sheath to protect both the edge and the low-friction coating.
Does the X25 come with a warranty?
Yes. The Fiskars X25 is backed by Fiskars' full lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
This lifetime warranty reflects Fiskars' confidence in the durability of their FiberComp® handle and forged steel blade — tools designed to last well beyond a single season of use.
