Irritec
Irritec was started by three brothers- Rosario, Cono, and Carmelo Giuffre- in 1974 in Capo D'Orlando. When the company was founded, its main activity was manufacturing PVC blinds. The company started with only 18 employees.
In the following years, Irritec began growing, and Carmelo came up with a different way of processing plastics. As the importance of water conservation started to rise, the idea of a future in the irrigation field switched the company's focus from blinds to the micro-irrigation sector.
In the 80s, micro-irrigation practices spread in the Middle Eastern countries, the United States, Arabia, and Italy. To meet the demanding requirements of new agriculture and turf irrigation systems, Irritec expanded its product line by producing irrigation pipes. Irritec's real success started in the early 90s with the addition of driplines to their portfolio.
DripWorks has partnered with Irritec to offer top-of-the-line products at the best prices. Irritec's polyethylene mainline tubing is made from high-quality, low-density resin for a long-life expectancy. There is a 7-year non-prorated warranty against defects in material or workmanship. The tubing is made for durability and strength while remaining flexible for ease of use.
DripWorks carries the Irritec mainline tubing in 1/2" and 3/4" sizes. The maximum operating pressure rating for this tubing is 50 PSI.
The 1/2" tubing has an ID of 0.600" and OD of 0.700" and a maximum flow capacity of 4 GPM or 240 GPH.
The 3/4" tubing has an ID of 0.820" and OD of 0.940" with a maximum flow capacity of 8 GPM or 480 GPH.
For fittings, our top-selling Easy Loc/Perma Loc fittings come from Irritec. We offer 500, 600, 800, and 1000 series sizes of these fittings.
The 500 series works for the common 1/2" Rain Drip tubing with an OD of 0.620". These fittings are not compatible with the 1/2" mainline or emitter tubing that we carry.
Our long-standing top-selling product, the 1/2" Pressure Compensating Emitter Tubing, is also made by Irritec. This tubing comes in 9", 12", 18", 24", or 36" spaced emitters with 0.5 GPH or 1 GPH flow rate choices to fit various needs.
To match with our 1/2" poly mainline and emitter tubing, we have the 600 series of Easy loc fittings. These are compatible with poly tubing with an OD range of 0.680"-0.720".
For the 3/4" tubing, we carry the 800 series easy loc fitting. These fittings work with tubing with an OD range of 0.880"-0.970".
The final size of easy loc we carry is the 1000 series to match with 1" poly with an OD range of 1.025"-1.085".
Continuing with the high quality, we offer the Irritec P1 Emitter tape. This 5/8" seamless 15mil drip tape with 8" OC spaced emitters. The emitter tape is a high-flow tape with a flow rate of 40 GPH per 100' of tape. Drip tape is an excellent choice for long, straight-row crops due to the long maximum row length and even water distribution. The operating pressure range for the emitter tape is 10-15 PSI, with a minimum filtration requirement of 155 mesh.
The great Irritec products don't stop at tubing, fittings, and emitter tape. The Zero Pressure timer does not require any pressure to function and instead has an internal mechanical ball valve that opens and closes. The operating pressure range is from 0-115 PSI, making this a perfect choice not only for gravity systems but also for standard hose-threaded water sources. The timer requires two AAA alkaline batteries. Program the timer easily with simple dials for duration and frequency.
The Irritec Home Garden screen filter is included in all standard irrigation kits. The filter comes in standard hose thread or pipe thread in 3/4" or 1" size. As a complete unit with the filter body and screen, it comes in a 155 or 200 mesh option. We also sell replacement screens in a variety of other mesh sizes.
